California has offered stimulus aid for undocumented immigrants
- Immigrants apprehended at the northern border will be turned back to Canada. In some cases, this means reliving the traumatic events that brought them to the U.S. over and over again. Hearings for non-detained immigrants are currently set to reopen on June 15.
- California has offered stimulus aid for undocumented immigrants. On Monday, signups opened for California?s new relief program aimed at undocumented immigrants. Since undocumented immigrants do not qualify for most federal or state aid, California is offering $500 per person in aid, with a maximum of $1000 per household. The program will only fund a maximum of 150,000 people and is being offered on a first-come-first-served basis. The demand for this aid was so high that the phone lines being used for signups crashed one hour after they opened. About 2 million undocumented immigrants live in California.

On Friday, the House voted on whether to keep a measure in the HEROES Act that would retroactively give stimulus aid to undocumented immigrants.
